Fochriw’s post office is set to reopen on The Grove

Fochriw’s post office is set to reopen under new management this month.

The post office, on The Grove, closed in May this year due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

However, it will be back open at the same location from 1pm on Monday December 16.

A new postmaster will be in place, with the post office set to be open 53 hours a week.

Santosh Sanudrala, Post Office network provision lead, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring Post Office services to Fochriw as we know how important a post office is to a community.”

The post office will be open between 7.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday, and between 7.30am and 1pm on Saturdays.

Deri post office will not reopen as rural communities face “increasingly poor” treatment
