Caerphilly Winds and Strings will be holding their Concert for Christmas at the Vanguard Centre, on Van Road, Caerphilly, on Saturday December 21.

The concert will get underway at 3pm.

Tickets will be available on the door for £5, with anyone aged under 18 able to attend for free.

The band usually holds two concerts a year with monthly rehearsals taking place at the Vanguard Centre.

Audience and orchestra get the chance to chat afterwards over a cuppa and a mince pie.

History of the band

Formed in 2018 with just a handful of players, Caerphilly Winds and Strings has grown in
size to over 20 musicians.

It was created by retired music teacher Nigel Jones, who taught at a comprehensive school for 25 years before ten years working with Caerphilly Music Service as a choral specialist working with schools across the borough.
