The roof was vandalised last Saturday night

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, and criminal damage after St David’s Community Centre in Rhymney was vandalised.

Gwent Police said it has received a number of reports in January of burglaries across Rhymney, Fochriw, and Bargoed, with lead allegedly being stolen from rooftops.

The incident in Rhymney occurred on Saturday January 18, and the community centre remains closed until next week, according to its social media page.

The boy remains in police custody for questioning.
