A teenager has been charged after £3,000 worth of alcohol was stolen from a pub in Rhymney.
The pub was reportedly broken into sometime between 2am and 2.15am on Wednesday February 5.
Police officers on patrol in the area at the time spotted “a number of individuals fleeing the area and discarding plastic bags containing multiple bottles”.
Following police enquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and later charged.
He is due to appear at Newport Magistrate’s Court on Friday February 7.
