A Caerphilly-based recruitment firm with 17 members of staff has become employee-owned.

Mech Tech Professionals, which is based on Pontygwindy Industrial Estate, was set up ten years ago and specialises in the engineering, industrial, and environmental sectors.

Over the last decade, the company has gone from strength-to-strength, defying recessions, lockdowns and changing legislations in the process.

Its successes even earned itself a place on the Fast Growth 50 list, which includes the 50 fastest-growing businesses across the UK.

At the end of 2024, the company exceeded its pre-pandemic revenue and is on track to record its most successful financial year yet.

Explaining the decision to move to an employee-ownership model, the firm’s founder and managing director, Jonathan Hamm, said: “This move is testament to our dedication to both our team and our clients.

“By becoming employee-owned, we are not only securing the future of Mech Tech Professionals but are also empowering our employees to take an active role in shaping that future.”

Mr Hamm added: “From an operational perspective, nothing changes for our clients except a greater sense of continuity, longevity, and strength, knowing that the business legacy will continue.”
