Cefn Hengoed Ladies’ Choir is teaming up with pupils at Hendredenny Park Primary School for a charity concert.
The choir will perform alongside pupils from the school’s performing arts club on Friday March 28.
The concert, which starts at 6.30pm, will be held at the school and will be free to enter. The money raised through the raffle and refreshments will be donated to Ty Hafan.
It will be the second time the pupils have performed with the choir, having raised money for Noah’s Ark charity last year.
The school’s performing arts club is made up of children aged between six and 11, who meet after school once a week to sing together and play drama games.
Over the years they have performed at St David’s Hall, St Martin’s Church and their school’s annual talent show.
Meanwhile, Cefn Hengoed Ladies’ Choir is one of Wales’ oldest community choirs, having been formed in 1947 by the then-headteacher of Derwendeg Primary School, Mr Iestyn Evans.
In the 78 years since, the choir has performed at venues across Wales and further afield. In August, they will head to Belgium to perform at the Menin Gate memorial in Ypres.
The choir, which is welcoming new members, practices at Derwendeg Primary in Cefn Hengoed at 7pm on Wednesdays during school term times.
