A family-run business based in Cwmcarn has secured a government grant of more than £40,000.
Founded 11 years ago, Carlton Building Solutions specialises in the customising and refurbishing shipping containers.
Employing ten people, the £41,597 grant funding, from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, will go towards buying a new forklift – allowing the business to transport shipping containers and take on more projects.
Carlton Building Solutions has worked on several notable projects, including providing shipping containers for the Cardiff Bay Project and temporary classrooms for Aberdare High School.
The firm has also completed a complex move of portable buildings for the Pontypool and Blaenavon railway.
Additionally, they have contributed to community efforts by supporting charities such as the Wales Air Ambulance and Maggie’s.
Adam Sadler, the principal business development officer for the council, said: “The funding awarded to Carlton Building Solutions for the new machinery will help them grow as a company but also future proof them going forward, helping them access previously untapped opportunities.
“The Caerphilly business team is committed to supporting all businesses within the borough, which is why many companies wish to relocate here.”
