Rachel made the story up one bedtime to her daughter Sophia

Ystrad Mynach mum Rachel Havard has published her first children’s book, ‘Magic, Mum and Me‘, which started as a bedtime story she told to her daughter.

The book is about a mum and her daughter going on a night-time adventure, which first came to Rachel when telling her daughter, Sophia, a story before bed.

Hoping to get the story in writing just as a keepsake, primary school teacher Rachel contacted Olympia Publishers who said they’d love to work with her.

“It all spiralled from there” according to Rachel, with the book now available to buy online.
