Residents on a street in Cefn Hengoed are preparing for a full day of activities to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Earlier this year, Caerphilly County Borough Council announced residents could ask for permission to close their street and celebrate VE Day, something Emma Moore has taken advantage of in the past.
Speaking to Caerphilly Observer, the Cefn Hengoed resident said: “We’ve held similar street parties before, and are expecting around 100 people to be out taking part.
“We have a fun day for the family planned including a bouncy castle, face painting and a DJ. It’s also a good chance for children to learn about our history.
“We have a lot of older residents on the street, as well as one veteran from the Falklands War who’s especially excited for the day.”
The street party on Birch Crescent, Cefn Hengoed, will run between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday May 4.
On Monday May 5, street parties, community events and more will be held up and down the country to celebrate the Allied victory in World War II.
