A Caerphilly nurse has been recognised for her work in the NHS after being awarded a British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours.
Tara Rees is an advanced nurse practitioner with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAV UHB) looking after patients with liver disease.
She has dedicated her career to creating new services for those with specialist needs and was named RCN Wales Nurse of the Year Award in 2023.
Tara said: “I feel truly honoured and privileged to be receiving such an award.
“To be given this award will not only provide opportunities to shine the light on liver disease and drive patient care, which is my passion, but to hopefully inspire nurses into and remain in the profession.
“I truly believe this award is a result of working with a fantastic team both locally with CAV UHB and nationally, who have encouraged me every step of the way.
“I feel extremely blessed and proud.”
