The Parish Trust has confirmed its storage unit was broken into over the weekend, as the Christian charity appeals for the return of missing items.
Reverend Dean Roberts, who is CEO of the trust, told Caerphilly Observer how “disappointed” he was to see its storage unit, housing supplies and kit, had been broken into.
Having been evicted from St Thomas’ Church in December last year, the Trust moved to a temporary base in Bedwas House Industrial Estate while it searches for a permanent home.
According to Rev Dean, due to the smaller size of the unit in Bedwas, the Trust has kept a lot of its belongings in a storage warehouse in Caerphilly.

He continued: “We’re still assessing the damage and have forensics coming in tomorrow (Wednesday June 2), but we do know they’ve taken our red ride-on lawnmower, some of our lighting equipment, and some Baby Bank supplies.
“The Baby Bank has been a real success and has helped hundreds of families so it’s a real shame to see this happen.
“We’ve been working out of boxes since moving here, so it’s hard to tell exactly what’s missing until we open everything up.
“It’s disappointing, but the community has been very supportive. We just want to raise awareness and hopefully get these items back.”
Gwent Police said: “We had a call yesterday reporting there had been a burglary over the weekend, sometime between Friday and Monday morning, at a warehouse belonging to The Parish Trust.”
The force confirmed that a “number of items” have been stolen, as enquiries continue.
Anyone with information can contact the police on 101, quoting log number 2500207117.
