The family of a Risca man who passed away in a motorbike collision in Newport last weekend have paid tribute to a “true friend and gentleman”.

Craig Willis, 40, known as ‘Laney’, died in the collision on Ringland Way at around 6.40pm on Saturday June 28.

Police officers and paramedics attended the scene of the collision, which involved two motorbikes – a black Yamaha and a red Kawasaki.

In a tribute issued through Gwent Police, Mr Willis’ family said: “It’s with great sadness that I have to announce the passing of my dad (Laney).

“He passed away on Saturday June 28, 2025, after a fatal motorbike accident in Newport.

“He was a true friend and gentleman to everyone that knew him and will be unbelievably missed by a lot of people. But he will never be forgotten.

“Rest easy now big man.

“Love you forever and always.”
