A pedestrian remains in hospital after being hit by a car in Machen earlier this week, Gwent Police has confirmed.

The incident happened along the A468 at around 5pm on Tuesday August 19.

The road was closed for several hours after the collision, reopening around 1.30am that night.

The pedestrian’s condition has not been disclosed.
