Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden

Strictly Come Dancing’s Amy Dowden has been nominated in two categories at this year’s BAFTA Cymru awards.

The dancer, who is from Caerphilly, has been recognised for her BBC One Wales documentary Strictly Amy: Cancer and Me, which follows her breast cancer journey.

Amy is nominated in the Presenter category, as well as the Single Documentary category.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday October 5, held at the ICC Wales in Newport.

TV presenter Owain Wyn Evans will host the ceremony, with 17 categories spanning craft, performance and production.

In 2020, Amy starred in the BAFTA Cymru-winning documentary Crohn’s and Me, which showed the realities of living with Crohn’s, which includes symptoms such as extreme abdominal pain, vomiting, exhaustion and diarrhoea.
