Council planners in Caerphilly have backed a football club’s ambitions to open a new stand for spectators.
Treowen Stars applied for planning permission to improve their home ground following their promotion to the Cymru South.
The proposed stand will provide seating for 150 spectators and will be decked out in the club’s colours, according to a Caerphilly County Borough Council planning report.
It will be around 20 metres long and reach a height of 3.4 metres.
The council planning officers noted no objections had been raised to the application during a recent consultation period, and judged the stand would have “no undue impact upon the amenity or privacy of neighbouring properties”.
They added the stand’s design was “acceptable” and “would not be overbearing”.
Planning permission was granted, subject to several conditions.
