A teenager has appeared in court over alleged drugs offences

Police officers stopped and searched a man acting suspiciously on Birchgrove, New Tredegar, at around 1.15am on Wednesday May 20.

During the search, police seized cannabis, cocaine, a mobile phone, and cash.

Alex Idrissi, 18, of Duffryn Terrace, New Tredegar, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs, and using criminal property.

Idrissi appeared before Newport Magistrates’ Court on Thursday May 21, and is due at Cardiff Crown Court on June 18.
