South Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze

No injuries have been reported following a major house fire in Lansbury Park.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze at around 10.49am on Wednesday May 27.

Fire crews from Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Aberbargoed, and Cardiff Central attended, and the fire was fully extinguished at around 12.18pm.

Van ward councillor Elaine Forehead, who represents the area, said: “The whole community is shocked by this significant fire, but equally we are hugely relived that nobody was seriously injured.

“Lansbury Park is a close-knit community and we will all rally round to provide whatever support and assistance is required by those impacted by today’s incident.”

Council deputy leader Shayne Cook, who is the cabinet member for housing, said: “Our housing staff arrived swiftly on site to provide support for the residents affected.

“We are currently arranging temporary accommodation for those who need it and we will then assess the extent of the damage to the properties.”
