Community groups, schools and third sector organisations can apply for grants of up to £2,000 to run projects that bring people together.

The 2026 Community Cohesion Grant is available to organisations across Caerphilly County Borough, as well as neighbouring Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen.

The scheme aims to support projects that promote inclusion, celebrate diversity, and strengthen community cohesion.

Successful applicants can receive between £500 and £2,000 per project to deliver activities that encourage participation, tackle discrimination, and create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect.

The funding cannot be used for capital projects such as building renovations.

The deadline for applications is Friday, July 10. Applications can be submitted via the grant application form and emailed to communitycohesionteam@torfaen.gov.uk.

Cllr Elaine Forehead, Caerphilly County Borough Council’s cabinet member for social care, said: “Community has never been more important.

“These grants will help support local organisations that are working hard to bring people together, celebrate diversity and create welcoming, inclusive spaces for everyone.

“We want to encourage projects that strengthen relationships within our communities, tackle prejudice and help people feel a genuine sense of belonging where they live.

“Grassroots organisations play a vital role in this work and we are excited to see the positive ideas that come forward.”

One project previously supported through the grant was the Stories of Us initiative at Newbridge Memo.

The community arts project ran from October 2025 to January 2026 and engaged 63 people from diverse backgrounds.

It provided inclusive spaces for storytelling, confidence-building and friendship, culminating in a St David’s Day exhibition celebrating local heritage and community cohesion.
