Nine people have been arrested following a string of drug raids across Newbridge and Torfaen.
Gwent Police officers raided a number of properties in the early hours of Wednesday September 2 as part of an investigation into the supply of class A drugs.
Drugs, cash, weapons, mobile phones, and a car were all seized during the raids.
A 27-year-old man from Newbridge was among those arrested, alongside a 26-year-old woman from Pontypool, three women from Cwmbran aged between 29 and 39, and two 17-year-old boys from Cwmbran.
A 17-year-old boy from Pontypool and another from Corby, Northamptonshire, were also arrested.
All nine were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs, and are currently in police custody as enquiries continue.
PC Rhys Jones, of Gwent Police’s serious and organised crime unit, said the drug raids were part of Operation Arizona – an investigation into the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
He said: “Our organised crime unit is working tirelessly to identify and dismantle drug lines and organised crime groups who exploit vulnerable people and harm our communities through the supply of illegal drugs.
“As our enquiries continue, I’d like to thank our communities for their support and ask anyone with information – no matter how small it may seem – to keep coming forward.”
PC Jones added: “These details are vital in allowing us to carry out warrants such as these ones and we will act on information, identify offenders and bring them into custody as demonstrated by our activity this morning.”
