Lloyd Daniels’ X-Factor dream is over after he was voted off last night’s show.

The 16-year-old, from Treharris, has endured relentless criticism from judge Louis Walsh in recent weeks and failed to make the show’s semi-final after he was voted off by the public.

Despite his exit and harsh words from Walsh his Lloyd’s mentor Cheryl Cole said the Welsh lad had a bright future.

She said: “He is only 16 – he has got loads of time to blossom into a real star.”

After learning he had received fewer votes than Olly Murs, Lloyd fought back any tears as he said: “I have enjoyed every moment.”

Lloyd’s versions of Take That’s A Million Love Songs and Sir Elton John’s I’m Still Standing were not enough to keep him in the competition.
