Ten weeks of roadworks announced for the Trecenydd area

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 12:38, Tuesday July 12th, 2011.

Roadworks in the Trecenydd area are set to cause disruption for the next ten weeks.

The works, which will begin on Monday July 18, will see improvements to the Trecenydd roundabout on the A468 / A469 adjacent to St Cenydd Comprehensive School.

Cllr Rob Gough, Caerphilly Council’s cabinet member for transportation and planning said: “We plan to implement a number of improvements to the strategic network in and around the Caerphilly Basin to address traffic problems and ease congestion in the future.

“These important works at this key strategic location are necessary, but they will obviously lead to some disruption to motorists and we would urge as many people as possible to find alternative routes.

“I would like to apologise in advance for the disruption, but I’m sure motorists will understand that the long term benefits will far outweigh the short term inconvenience of these works.”
Construction Details

Working hours for the roadworks will be Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 3.30pm with the possibility of weekend working during the summer.

As the works progress, road closures may become necessary and alternative routes will be advertised in advance.
