Caerphilly Council Christmas waste collection dates

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 17:00, Monday December 14th, 2009.
Last updated: 17:42, Monday December 14th, 2009

recycleCaerphilly County Borough Council has announced the dates for its refuse, recycling and green waste collections over the Christmas period.

There will be no collections on Christmas Day, so this will have a ‘knock on’ effect over the following days.

If your normal collection day falls on any of the dates below, note the alternative collection date:

Normal Collection Day   Revised Collection Day
Friday December 25 (no collection)   Monday December 28
Monday December 28   Tuesday December 29
Tuesday December 29   Wednesday December 30
Wednesday December 30   Thursday December 31
Thursday December 31   Saturday January 2 2010
Friday January 1 2010 (no collection)   Sunday January 3 2010

These dates relate to all waste collection services over the holiday period (refuse, recycling and green/food waste).

Also because of the extra waste generated by wrapping paper and packaging over Christmas, from Monday December 28 2009 to Friday January 8 2010 the council will relax its normal rules and will collect an additional two bags maximum put out alongside wheelie bins.

Civic Amenity Sites will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.
