Caerphilly youngsters visit European Union

A group of young people from Caerphilly County Borough’s Youth Forum and The Hub projects had the chance to grill a European Parliamentary official during a recent visit to Brussels.

The thirteen young people were invited to visit the European Parliamentary building in Brussels by Member of European Parliament Jill Evans.

The youngsters quizzed her on a series of issues that were raised at the recent Youth Forum Conference in Caerphilly County Borough.

Nathan Flanagan, the ambassador for the Youth Forum asked a number of questions around subjects such as climate change, European employment policies for young people and the question of whether young people should be allowed to vote at 16.

The group were also given a talk by an EU official, telling them all about the history of the European Union, as well as a chance to visit the impressive debating chamber.
