Llanbradach playing fields to receive £22,000

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Tuesday February 8th, 2011.

Cwm Las playing fields in Llanbradach will receive a welcome facelift after being awarded £22,751from the Welsh Assembly Government.

The money, from the Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP), will be used to refurbish donated portable buildings into community facilities. The funding will be awarded
subject to a long-term lease being agreed at the site.

Jeff Cuthbert, Caerphilly’s Labour AM congratulated volunteers and users of Cwm Las Fields which is one of 16
projects across Wales to share around £3 million over three financial years.

Mr Cuthbert said: “I’m delighted that it looks like Cwm Las is going to receive this money, and I know it
will be put to good use.

“The funding when it is awarded will be is a boost for community life and the local economy
during difficult times.”

“It is important organisations at grass roots level are given this funding as they play such a
valued role in society.”

In November last year £300,000 was granted through to CFAP funding to Groundwork Caerphilly and £53,723 to Aber Valley YMCA.
