Have your say on childcare in Caerphilly County Borough

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Monday February 14th, 2011.

Parents across Caerphilly County Borough are being encouraged to have their say on local childcare and help shape services in the future.

A consultation period begins today and and will end on February 28 when parents, child carers, employers and the wider community can comment on services and provide feedback.

A draft document called a ‘Childcare Sufficiency Assessment’ (CSA) has been prepared by Caerphilly County Borough Council to identify gaps in the childcare market and map out a plan to address this shortfall in the future.

Cllr Phil Bevan, cabinet member for education said: “It is important that as many people as possible get involved and have their say about this key issue. I would encourage local people to comment on the document and highlight any issues or concerns that may have been missed in the assessment.”

Following the consultation the council will draw up an action plan to address the gaps identified in childcare.
