Caerphilly County Borough Council has promised to take a hard line on people who use council land for commercial use without permission.
Cllr Ron Davies, cabinet member for regeneration and countryside said: “My cabinet colleague Colin Mann, the deputy leader and cabinet member for resources, is clear in his mind that we need to protect our assets.
“I am pleased to support that line, but I know he and his property department will be pleased to co-operate with anyone who wishes to legally purchase land to improve their business or increase their farmland ownership.
“We have no intention of stifling enterprise, but as guardians of the public land around the county borough, we have a duty to either maintain control or to sell the land at a reasonable market price and reinvest the money for the benefit of the people of Caerphilly county borough.”
