28-year-old man found dead in Abertridwr named

A 28-year-old man found dead in a lane near the Garth estate in Abertridwr has been named by friends on Facebook as Gareth Davies from Senghenydd.

Police have yet to officially name him and are continuing to  investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Gwent Police said his body was discovered at 9.35pm on Thursday.

A spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.”

The spokeswoman added the results of a post-mortem on the body will be known on Monday and said officers were responding to a call from the ambulance service.
