Coffee lovers in Caerphilly are helping to keep a local scout group full of beans, with a coffee store partnership which also helps coffee growing communities across the globe.

Costa Coffee at the Castle Court Shopping Centre in Caerphilly has formed a partnership with the 1st Caerphilly Scout Group based in Nantgarw Road, helping to fundraise for the Scout’s adventure activities, as well as Costa Coffee’s own charity, the Costa Foundation

Tracy Finlay, 41, Costa Coffee manager at the Caerphilly store, has led the partnership.

She said: “The relationship between Caerphilly’s Costa Coffee and the First Scout Group is great. We help organise various fundraising activities such as bag packing with the Scouts at local supermarkets, and split the money between the Scout Group and the Costa Foundation.

“We’ve also given interactive talks to the Scouts on the Costa Foundation, and information on how coffee is grown, which has helped the group work towards some of their international badges. The Partnership is a great way of helping the community.

Miranda Holmes, leader of 1st Caerphilly said: “We’re delighted to have the support of Costa Coffee. The money we raise through the help from Costa Coffee helps us provide vital equipment and services to keep the scout group going.”
