Local author and serving police officer Mike Thomas will be launching his satirical novel ‘Pocket Notebook’ at Bedwas Community Education Centre on Monday March 1 at 10am.

Mike will read extracts from his book and talk about the journey he has taken, from writer’s dream to the reality of being published by one of the UK’s major publishers, Heinemann.

‘Pocket Notebook’ follows the life of the main character Jacob Smith, a good-old British policeman, the sort revered around the world, who turns out to be not so revered.

The book leads the reader through twists and turns, to follow Jacob through a very public breakdown and subsequent fall from grace, all of which he meticulously records in his police notebook.

Mike, who is from Caerphilly, is a former member of the Bedwas Writers’ Circle, who regularly meet at the centre.

For further information about the event or details of how to join the writers group, please contact Bedwas Community Education Centre on 029 2085 2537.
