Police have seized 330 cannabis plants after raiding an address in Church Street, Ystrad Mynach.

Officers executed a drugs warrant at approximately 10am Wednesday.

As well as the plants, all at different stages of growth, police also discovered hydroponics equipment in two rooms at the property used to cultivate cannabis.

Ystrad Mynach ward officer PC Louise Anzani said: “We have uncovered a number of cannabis plants during the warrant today which is pleasing as it stops these drugs from being sold on our streets.

“I would like to thank local residents for their help and information, which is so important in helping to disrupt the cultivation of cannabis.”

Local Police Community Support Officer Gareth Coombes said: “We take all information regarding the possible cultivation or supply of drugs seriously.

“If anyone notices anything suspicious in their area, then please get in contact with us.”

Officers are now investigating the drugs factory and the people behind it.

Anyone with information should contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
