Budding film makers from Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys Campus will get to celebrate their hard work on a music video in aid of cancer charity Tenovus at a special launch event on Saturday March 6.

The video, directed and produced by media staff and students, is part of a project run by Côr Casnewydd, the City of Newport’s new Children’s Community Choir.

The initiative has brought together young local talent to produce a pop single and video entitled Don’t Give up!

Proceeds from the sale of the single, which has been recorded in English and Welsh, will raise funds for Welsh cancer charity Tenovus.

Project organiser and Don’t Give Up! composer Emma Rowland has been working with Coleg Gwent students on the music video.

She said: “Coleg Gwent students have come up with some fantastic ideas and have been full of enthusiasm about the project. We hope that it will be a great success both in raising funds for Tenovus, and as a brilliant example of local talent and creativity.”

Crosskeys Campus Media tutor Geoff Harper said: “The students have been working flat out on the project and have really given it their full commitment. Filming the video has provided them with some great industry experience, and helped to develop their technical skills.”
