A TV production company based in New Tredegar is to have one of its programmes screened on national BBC Two.

Zipline Creative has had its TV series Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience picked up by the channel for network viewing after it was originally commissioned for BBC Wales.

The company’s core team of Nathan Mackintosh and Rhys Waters were produced and directed the series and worked with Presentable RDF to shoot the programme last Autumn.

Mr Waters said: “It’s like a dream come true. If you’re making a regional series it’s your highest aim to have it picked up by BBC London. I’m still pinching myself.”

The four-part series sees stand-up comedian Rhod Gilbert try out four different jobs. In the first show, to be screened on Wednesday March 10 at 10pm, he tries his hand being a binman.

Mackintosh said: “We were really pleased with the strong viewing figures and great feedback we had when the series was broadcast in January.

“We hope we can replicate the same success with a wider UK audience.

“This is the slot where people tune in to see the likes of Mock the Week or Nevermind The Buzzcocks, so it feels like a huge honour to us.”
