Council bosses to jump off cliff for Comic Relief

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:45, Friday March 18th, 2011.

The Chief Executive, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Caerphilly County Borough Council will take the plunge at noon today when they fling themselves from a cliff for charity.

The trio will join dozens of other council staff who will abseil from the top of Penallta Rocks. The cliff is located next to the council offices in Ystrad Mynach.

Anthony O’Sullivan (Chief Executive), Cllr James Fussell (Mayor) and Cllr Vera Jenkins (Dep Mayor) have agreed to lead by example and are encouraging all CCBC employees to dig deep and donate to this worthwhile cause.

Other events and fundraising activities will be taking place across the organisation as well as in schools across the county borough during the day.

Well done to anyone who raises money for a good cause. It's good to see people leading by example and engaging so positively.
