Swalec offers £400 discount on new boilers

Residents in Caerphilly County Borough can save up to £900 on a new boiler by taking advantage of two discount schemes.

Energy firm Swalec is offering a £400 scrappage discount to customers when they replace an old boiler with a new A-rated boiler.

The cash discount is in addition to the Welsh Assembly Government scheme where anyone aged 60 or over with an outdated G-rated boiler can apply for a £500 voucher towards the cost of replacing it with an energy efficient model.

Through the schemes, customers could save up to £900.

Andrew Lloyd, Swalec’s energy efficiency manager, said: “An old boiler can be an inefficient boiler which could be costing you too much money and might break down at any time.

“Replacing an old and inefficient boiler with an A-rated model could save households up to £235 per year in energy costs, and help the environment by significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions too.”

For more information on the scrappage scheme call 0845 070 2134.
