This year marks the 50th anniversary of Caerphilly County Borough’s twinning with the town of Ludwigsburg in Germany.
The council is looking for people with stories related to the twinning of the town for an exhibition later this year.
Do you have a friendship with someone in Ludwigsburg? Or fond memories of visiting the town as part of an exchanged?
If so then the council is looking for any photos, letters or information, which people would be willing to share for the exhibition.
The council currently has two students from Ludwigsburg on a three month exchange programme.
Nicole Heller and Diana Rothfuss are helping to organise the exhibition and are very keen for people to come forward to tell them their twinning stories.
They said: “It would be very good to hear from anyone who has experiences of twinning between Caerphilly and Ludwigsburg, and it would be particularly interesting to see how those friendships were formed and blossomed in the years after World War II.”
Close to the industrial heart of Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg has developed into an industrial centre north of the State capital.
The main industries are mechanical engineering, car accessories, textiles, and food manufacture.
One of the largest European building societies is also situated in the town.
In 1960 the former Caerphilly Urban District Council formed the partnership and it has continued since.
In 1974, with local government re-organisation, Rhymney Valley District Council took over the twinning arrangement and again in 1996 the new Caerphilly County Borough Council adopted the twinning partnership.
