A group of police cadets have raised nearly £1,000 after staging a charity walk for Comic Relief.
More than £285 was dropped into collection buckets carried by the Blaenau Gwent youngsters as they carried out the 15-mile hike between the police stations in Tredegar and Abertillery, via the stations in Ebbw Vale and Brynmawr.
The rest of the cash will be made up by sponsorship raised by the individual walkers.
Cadet Danielle Vaughan said: “We all had a great time and the walk also made us visible in the community while we raised money for a good cause.
“There were some tired legs at the end of the walk, but people’s contributions to our bucket collection made it all worthwhile.”
