Caerphilly firms are being urged to enter the Caerphilly Business Forum Awards 2010 ahead of its official launch in June.
Andrew Diplock, the newly elected chairman of Caerphilly Business Forum, has called on local businesses to tell others of their hard work by putting themselves forward for an award.
Mr Diplock said: “The Caerphilly Business Forum Awards are an excellent way for businesses to gain the recognition that they rightly deserve for their work within the County Borough, and this year more than ever before they should feel that they can truly celebrate the hard work that has been achieved in the face of such adversity.”
This year’s awards will be the ninth time the event has been held. The full category line-up is due to be unveiled at the Bryn Meadows, Golf, Hotel and Spa in Maesycwmmer, near Blackwood, on Thursday, June 24.
Organised by the Forum, the awards scheme culminates in a ceremony in November when the achievements of businesses in all sectors from within the Caerphilly County Borough area.
Open to all companies based within the Caerphilly County Borough Council boundary, the awards are designed for businesses of any size that have demonstrated success in what has been the toughest of markets in the last 12 months.
Mr Diplock added: “The last 18 months have been challenging to say the least for any business, but we know that companies across the Caerphilly area have risen to meet those extraordinary challenges and, in demonstrating resourcefulness, innovation and a sheer will and determination, have still managed to succeed in the harshest of trading conditions.
“They deserve to be recognised for those achievements and we want them to stand up and be counted by coming forward to be nominated for a Forum award this year.”
Mr Diplock should be congratulated for encouraging local, home grown businesses to show that we can match any in Europe.
By utilising local business we keep the money in our area and this will enable school-leavers to gain employment and to stay in the locality.
We don't want our educated youngsters to leave this area.
Good luck and well done Andrew.
