Senior councillor to stand for Assembly

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 07:39, Tuesday March 29th, 2011.

A former deputy leader of Caerphilly County Borough Council will stand for election to the Welsh Assembly.

Gwyn Price has been named as the Labour candidate for Islwyn for the election on May 5.

Mr Price pledged to be a strong and powerful voice for the area if elected.

He said: “I am relishing getting out on the campaign trail. I have already met so many people all over Islwyn who are worried about local and national cuts. I am determined to do all that I can to get the best deal for people in the Assembly.

“We face tough times ahead and I am taking nothing for granted but together with the Islwyn Labour Party I will be working hard for a majority Labour Administration in Cardiff Bay.”
