New Caerphilly business leader plots route to recovery

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 07:41, Friday June 25th, 2010.

The newly appointed chairman of Caerphilly Business Forum (CBF) has pledged to provide a voice for local firms as they fight through tough times.

CBF chairman Andrew Diplock, who is commercial director of Ystrad Mynach firm UES, said: “Caerphilly is like a microcosm of Wales with a very mixed spectrum of businesses, from traditional to hi-tech. Both manufacturing and service industries feature prominently and we have businesses of all different sizes operating in almost every niche.

“But like everyone, we’ve felt the impact of the recession and are bracing ourselves for what lies ahead. With that in mind, it is absolutely vital that businesses in Caerphilly Borough have a voice and that that voice is heard in the right places by the right people. That is why Caerphilly Business Forum can and will play a crucial role in shaping the environment in which we operate for years to come.

“With that goal, we are looking for people from all businesses in Caerphilly Borough to join us to share their views and to make our voice heard.”

He has been joined on the new-look CBF by new treasurer Dave Bull, a Caerphilly based chartered tax adviser, and vice-chair Michelle Rose-Innes, from Caerphilly packaging design company Rose-Innes Design.
