Caerphilly County Borough Council has been given hundreds of thousands of pounds in extra funding by the Welsh Assembly.
The council was handed £649,191 from underspent budgets, to use for children’s social services and maintaining community facilities, such as sports centres and family centres.
The money was part of £9.5 million shared by all local authorities in Wales.
Only Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea and Cardiff received more.
