An engineering firm which manufactures sorting equipment for the recycling of metal has taken on three new apprentices.

Over the next three years, the apprentices who all come from the local area, will spilt their time between college and working alongside experienced members of staff at Bedwas-based Eriez Magnetics.

The three apprentices are: electrical apprentice Nicholas Driscoll and mechanical apprentices Evan Griffiths and Andrew Stubbs.

Miles Disbrey, operations manager at Eriez Europe, said: “Over the next few years we have a number of skilled people retiring who are very difficult to replace. Looking ahead we decided offering apprenticeships to local students to overcome our shortfall.

“Working closely with the local college we have three young lads who will be able to continue our success into the future. I am personally very pleased to have them on board and would like to take this opportunity to welcome them into the Eriez family.”

The apprentices were chosen through a selection process through Coleg Morgannwg.
