A 34-year-old man from Merthyr Tydfil has been jailed for five-and-half years after he robbed a betting shop.
Anton Jones, of Gurnos Road, admitted robbing the Coral betting shop on Hanbury Road, Bargoed on October 12.
Newport Crown Court was told how Jones had argued with the assistant manager Lewis Lynch after he accused the betting shop worker of not paying money for a winning bet.
He left the shop at 6.50pm but came back ten minutes later with a knife and wearing a black balaclava.
Jones held the knife to Mr Lynch’s face threatening him and later made off with money from the till.
Police later found the robber hiding in some bushes near the betting shop.
