The Welsh celebrities are returning for a special Christmas edition of cariad@iaith:love4language

A host of Welsh celebrities, including Caerphilly-born TV presenter Matt Johnson, are to return in a special Christmas edition of S4C series cariad@iaith:love4language.

Nia Parry and Gareth Roberts present the programme on December 24 at 9.30pm (English subtitles), as the celebrity learners try to pick up where they left off after an intense week learning Welsh on S4C in July.

This time the challenges are Christmas themed as the crew learn Welsh the festive way. The challenges include turkey plucking, cooking mince pies and a Christmas pantomime performance – but how much Welsh do they remember?

All but one of the eight celebrities were re-united for the Christmas special which was filmed in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire. Present was the series winner Melanie Walters along with Colin Charvis, Helen Lederer, Josie d’Arby, Lembit Opik, Matt Johnson, and Rhys from GLC. Sophie Evans was unable to attend since she was starring in the lead role in The Wizard of Oz in the West End.
