A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Pontllanfraith man after he failed to show up at a court hearing.

John Jones was due to appear before Caerphilly Magistrates on Tuesday after he was arrested on suspicion of breaching his Antisocial Behaviour Order. He failed to attend and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Jones, 34, of Newport Road, Pontllanfraith, was given a two-year ASBO by Caerphilly Magistrates in September 2010 after a series of drunken antisocial incidents.

He was handed the ASBO alongside his brother Shane Jones after they both displayed frequent abusive, threatening and aggressive behaviour, often under the influence of alcohol.

The pair were originally taken to court by the Safer Caerphilly Community Safety Partnership.

The Jones’ ASBOs ban the pair from the following in any part of Caerphilly County Borough.

  • Acting in a manner, which causes or is likely to cause nuisance, harassment, alarm or distress to any person.
  • Swearing at, shouting at or threatening any person.
  • Being drunk in any public place.
  • Damaging any property not belonging to them.
  • Carrying open containers of alcohol or consuming alcohol in any public place without an on licence.
  • Purchasing alcohol anywhere except licence premises.
