New members wanted for Caerphilly County Youth Theatre

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 11:00, Friday January 6th, 2012.

Caerphilly County Youth Theatre is currently looking for new members to join its cast and crew.

If you have a passion for theatre and/or the technical side of it, and are between 14 and 19-years-old, why not come along by yourself or with a friend?

All new members are welcome. The council’s Arts Development team are keen to expand the highly respected Youth Theatre, creating two groups so that more people can benefit from getting involved.

They will soon be starting on their exciting up-and-coming New Connections play, and are also developing ‘Wings to Fly’, a drug awareness play performed annually for school children from across Caerphilly county borough.

The groups will run from Wednesday January 11 at Bedwas Workmen’s Hall and Mondays at Blackwood Miners’ Institute – both are from 6pm until 8pm.

Anthony Gallagher, Youth Theatre Director, said: “This is a great opportunity to get involved in what is a range of exciting projects and we can develop skills and confidence in a very professional, supportive and fun environment.”

The Caerphilly County Youth Theatre is open to all young people of all physical abilities, who are keen to take part in workshop and rehearsal settings and to unleash their enthusiasm in the world of drama. So, what are you waiting for?!
