Staff from Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s headquarters in Nelson have raised £185 for Breast Cancer Care through bucket collections, selling badges, holding cake sales and a number of ‘dress down’ days.

The fundraising activities took place as part of the charity’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign which runs throughout October every year.

Lisa Davies works as a receptionist at Welsh Water’s headquarters and was responsible for organising the fundraising activities.

She said: “Breast Cancer Care is a cause that is close to a lot of people’s hearts, and we have a lot of charitable staff working here who are always happy to get involved with fundraising.

“They really showed their support for the activities which took place and we are all thrilled with the amount that we have managed to donate to the charity.”

Jay Sheppard, fundraiser at Breast Cancer Care, said: “We’re very grateful for the support we’ve had from Welsh Water. Not only have they helped to raise vital funds to help the 200 plus individuals who receive a breast cancer diagnosis in Wales each month, but they are also raising awareness of the illness which is so important.”
