European Job Day to be held in Cardiff

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 13:00, Thursday October 21st, 2010.

A European jobs fair will be held in Cardiff next week for people interested in working abroad.

The European Job Day – organised by European Employment Services (EURES) – will see employment advisers from 15 different countries descend upon the Welsh capital, with several European employers looking to fill vacancies, including PGL Holidays, Disneyland Paris, Peakstaff Recruitment, and the Bourne Leisure Group

The free event will be held at Cardiff’s City Hall on Wednesday October 27 between 10am and 3pm.

Visitors will also have access to an online European jobs database, which they can use to search for jobs across the continent, with the help of staff from Jobcentre Plus.

Peter Sydserff, EURES Manager for the UK, said: “The European Job Day aims to widen jobseekers’ appreciation of opportunities throughout the continent.

“We would invite people who have thought about working in Europe to come down and speak to us and the employers at the event for advice and information about the opportunities available.”
