Cash boost for Caerphilly County Borough community schemes

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 09:00, Monday April 18th, 2011.

Seven community groups within Caerphilly County Borough are set to receive a share of almost £150,000 in grant funding.

The cash is being made available through the Community Regeneration Fund.

The fund allows community and voluntary sector organisations in the county borough to bid for money for schemes designed to help local communities.

The latest initiatives to receive funds are:

  • Aber Valley YMCA Youth and Community Project
  • Britannia Community House Coordinator
  • New Tredegar Adventure Play Areas
  • Trinant Youth/Community Café
  • Oakdale Presbyterian Church
  • Ty Sign Church Hall
  • Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall

A spokesman for Caerphilly County Borough Council said: “The fund enables voluntary sector organisations and community groups across our county borough to take forward initiatives they have developed which are of benefit to the entire community.

“We look forward to seeing these excellent community projects coming to fruition in the near future.”

This was the fourth round of bids awarded via the Community Regeneration Fund during the 2010/2011 financial year.
