Islwyn MP praises Brace’s Bakery

News | Richard Gurner | Published: 17:00, Wednesday January 25th, 2012.

Islwyn’s Labour MP Chris Evans has praised Crumlin-based firm Braces Bakery as an example of a local business success story.

The family-owned business recently won a Made in Wales Food and Drink award run by Wales Business Insider magazine.

After meeting with directors Jonathan and Mark Brace, Mr Evans took a tour of the Pen-y-Fan plant which uses state of the art machinery to produce up to 6,000 loaves of bread an hour.

Mr Evans said: “Brace’s bakery is an example of one of the many thriving companies we have here in Islwyn and it is great to see it go from strength to strength.

“I would advise any companies looking to relocate to come and take advantage of the fantastic facilities which we have to offer.

“As companies like Braces prove; Islwyn is the place to do business.”
