Tickets have gone on sale this morning for Take That’s visit to Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium on Tuesday June 14 2011.

The summer concert is part of the band’s Progress Live tour – the first time the group have toured as a five-piece since 1995.

However ticket websites have crashed as thousands of fans visit to try and secure tickets.

In a statement, a Take That spokesperson said: “Due to totally unprecedented demand this morning, all ticket agents have struggled to cope with the number of people logging on to try and buy Take That tickets.

“The technology available has not been able to keep up with demand. However all ticket agents are confident they will be able to process all enquiries so are asking fans to keep trying.”

The spectacular live shows will celebrate Take That’s biggest hits from the last two decades and will also see Robbie take to the stage to perform songs from chart-topping solo career.

WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis said: “The Millennium Stadium has become a must play venue for all the big acts and I’m thrilled that Take That have announced that they will be returning next summer.

“Over 120,000 Take That fans will remember the fantastic Circus Live Tour at the venue last summer, and many will remember the band’s first Millennium Stadium show in 2006.

“The Millennium Stadium brought Robbie Williams to Cardiff in 2001 for two sell-out dates however to welcome a five-piece Take That is a landmark occasion for all the fans and I’m sure that thousands of people out there will be looking to get their hands on the best of the band’s tickets.”

Progress Live 2011 follows the band’s tradition of starting in the UK’s North East, kicking off at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on May 30, then heading to The City of Manchester Stadium, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium, Dublin Croke Park, Glasgow Hampden Park, Birmingham Villa Park and finally London’s Wembley Stadium for four nights.

The band then head to Europe for shows at Milan’s San Siro Stadium, Copenhagen Parken, Amsterdam Arena, Hamburg Imtech Arena, Dusseldorf Esprit Arena and Munich Olympiastadion.

UK tickets went on sale at 9am.

Tickets are priced at £55, £65, £75 and £85 and are available online from www.ticketmaster.co.uk

Take That also release their brand new album Progress on November 15, which is available to pre-order now from Amazon.
